I am encouraging people to look around at materials that are available and re-use them to make beautiful useful things.
Make a T Shirt Dog Tug Toy
Recycle T shirts into sturdy dog tug toys that last a long time, and don't leave strings all over. The other benefit, is that since the material is used, many of the manufacturing chemicals have been washed out.

How to make a toothbrush rug

The basics of how to make a toothbrush, or Amish knot rug using recycled bedsheets. These are machine wash and dry. They last for 20-30 years. They make great gifts! Also check my video on how to rip the sheets to prepare for the rug.
Very nice 👍 ❤
I started cutting the edges off and the corners out and then started to rip.. but I couldn't tear it. Do I just have to pull harder? Or could it be coz it's polyester?
Yes, it is because it is either polyester or microfiber
I love braided rugs.:. Thank you
Awesome
I wanted to tell you thank you for your instructions. I took them and altered a bit, and made a rug I love. I’ll try to include pictures.
Awesome!
Could u do it the same for 1 1/2" strips?
Yes, in fact the vintage rag rugs were in small strips like that. I use the larger strips to make a thicker rug that beater bars on vacuums won't get caught in.
Is there a specific direction to rip sheets so that the rip stays where it's supposed to? My sheet is going wonky (smaller and bigger) as I rip.
I am guessing that you are trying to rip micro fiber sheets. They do not rip well. This video shows cotton and cotton/ poly sheets. I have tried to rip micro fiber sheets, and can't. I also don't know how they will hold up in long term.
You’re doing over, over and over. I’ve watched carefully….three times
OMG. This is the most perfect "how to" for tearing sheets. Thank you so much. I was cutting sheets earlier this evening with a rotary cutter because the first "tear" on the first sheet ripped unevenly as you have described will happen at times. I was doing this cutting before I found your video. I will give ripping another try using your technique because that would sure be a lot faster than using a rotary cutter in my opinion.
What can I make with skinny newspaper bags?
When you accidentally rip a bag, you can use a piece of tape and still use it.
Making this is also one of the art. God's gift mam.
Have you found it's best to keep the same type of fabric or can you mix it up a little? I have cotton sheets and flannel sheets. I was hoping to mix them for a good color pattern, but I can work out an alternative if that's not wise.
The trouble with flannel is that the cotton fibers are shorter. Flannel in rugs will wear out faster than regular cotton or cotton/poly mix.
I’m wondering if you can use chunky yarn or fleece fabric and make a blanket using this method?
I’m wondering if this will work using thick yarn to make a blanket?
I don't see why it wouldn't. Look for directions on "in-braiding"
Mom Eberhard , Thank you! I’ve tried but no full toroidal on braiding( weaving ) fleece, chunky yarn blankets. I’ll keep looking❤️

Sad that they just put a ban on these plastic grocery shopping bags
Amazing 👏
When are going to make a new video it’s been years
❤
Your saying over and under and it is not matching what your doing I am so confused.
I realize this has been a little over 5 years ago but I can't believe I didn't find this till now! And I am equally surprised this had gotten no comments. This is genius and now I cannot wait to give this a go for this holiday season. Thank you!

What is the advantage of braiding 4 strands as opposed to 3 strands?
4 strands makes a thicker braid, so you don't have to go around the rug as many times. You can just do a 3 strand, but it will take longer.
How many plastic bag you use to make it?
Kay so tbh I skimmed this video but I somehow made a basket instead of a mat (which is fine by me) I think it must have been my tension was too tight?
Thank you very much!I from Russia.
Love this
Can you please make a video with a top view? I understand the braid but then I'm lost, on the turn. I crochet these right now and love the idea of doing it differently.
My thoughts exactly. Top view is much needed, though I don't crochet.
You go to fast in the begining
This is such a awesome idea I just got a new addition to the family definitely going to try to make him one by the way I am new to your channel thanks for sharing
Thank you for making this. I know what I'll be doing with my coonhound this weekend!

Wow. You are a born teacher! I've watched other demonstrations, but yours was by far the clearest.

I cut out all the seams, and collars, and make rags for my husband and his mechanic friends. They use them for checking oil, wiping parts etc.
